A 39-year-old man from Lancashire has denied charges of encouraging murder and violent disorder linked to recent riots in Southport and Liverpool.

Andrew McIntyre, residing on Cousins Lane in Rufford, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to charges of intentionally encouraging murder and violent disorder through electronic communication. Additionally, he denied possessing a pocket knife in a public place on Smithdown Road, Liverpool, on August 8.

The court has remanded Mr. McIntyre into custody, with his next appearance scheduled for November 4 for a case management hearing. A provisional trial date has been set for February 3. Judge Neil Flewitt recognized the public's interest in the proceedings.

During the hearing, Mr. McIntyre acknowledged his parents in the public gallery, confirming his name and pleading not guilty to all three offences. Prosecutor Chris Taylor informed the judge that Mr. McIntyre was allegedly the administrator of an online group where he purportedly encouraged members to commit murder and engage in the recent disorder occurring in Merseyside.
